I was struck by your comments about how we all worry so much about money and having enough and retiring. That is incredibly true! And it tends to control our lives and feelings. I am practicing something new, and it is helping me a lot. I remind myself I have everything I need. I am in no danger of starvation. If, as I travel through my life, I find I NEED something, I am absolutely confident that I can find a way to get that NEED met. I am intelligent, educated, versatile, and a great improviser. I know how to ask for help if I need it. And I also realize that I only NEED a very few things. Air, water, food, shelter, friends. Everything else can be postponed, or found later, or simply is not necessary. It might be pleasurable, desired, or comforting, but it is probably not necessary to my absolute survival right at this moment. Sometime in the future I can have or acquire the more pleasurable things, but right now, I have everything I need. I don't need more of anything - not food or money or clothing or things. I have enough. Truly. And so I don't need to fret.
I too was for a long time intrested in not having possesions for they occupy large part of our time and energy . . . When it came to wanderers i really love Thoreau’s ‘Walking’ essay.
I’ve never been to North America but the one he describes alongside with the one Whitman describes are the place I would love to visit.
I like this essay very much, for until now i havent heard about Sakaki. I am eager to get to know him better now, thanks!
Hoho, a master stroke Blake! I can feel the mointain wind on my face while sitting on the beach and thinking if this is safe to forward to my kids! What if they turn up just like you!?

Great one Blake. I wasn’t aware of Nanao or cloud wandering so thanks for both. Hope you’re enjoying the ride. 🤙
