Love this! I am kinda in similar shoes (just not as famous as you are ;), though I wrote my first manuscript in Russian. Turns out it's hard to publish books in Russian nowadays, even self-publish, who knew...My husband is pushing me to translate it to English (which I started on my Substack) and look for a real publisher, but I'm kinda still leaning towards self-publishing though I have no marketing skills. In any case, your post provided more food for thought. Thanks!
Austin would love you. Try Book People. Best place and RIGHT next to the downtown REI. If you do any touring in EU, come to Leuven. One of the largest universities in EU, KU Leuven draws an international crowd. The cafe Noirbar is a university favorite, a cycling hotspot (you see professionals riders there regularly), and they have space to host events. The owners, Chris and Muriel, are cool.
Thanks for this authenticity in the void of filters nowadays.the 4th idea is great
hell fucking yeah.
love the reading by the fire and book tour idea
you have made it meaningfully more likely that I write a book
thank you for the way you share yourself!
Same!
Like the illustrations idea with Brendan Leonard…

My mountain town would LOVE to have you💜 Check out Boone, NC- home of Appalachian State University.
Love this Blake. Embedding adventure, always.
Great post! Thanks for sharing your thought process and plans. I found it interesting despite not having any intention of writing a book myself.
