Sounds GREAT! Wish I lived where you will be. (I'm in Springfield MO). When you get to Colorado, see if you can add Ouray and/or Crested Butte to you itinerary. Ouray is called "The little Switzerland of America" with natural hot springs and a gondola. For my money, Crested Butte is the most beautiful of all the ski "resorts", but is fabulous in the summer! I lived in CO 30+ years.
If you will be using the Empire State Trail while traveling through NY/ the Hudson Valley, you'll inevitably pass through a small, eclectic town called New Paltz, the home of Gunks rock climbing. The local gear shop or book store may be good venues.
Can't wait to hear about your adventures! We probably won't cross paths, unfortunately, but I'll keep an eye out just in case as you never know! Heidi starts dance conservatory near Boston this fall so she's on her own path to living her best life, much in thanks to you and the other mentors she's had as a young adult! Parker just became a certified EMT and is starting firefighter academy and getting married in June and he is letting me DJ his wedding!!! So we are all trying to follow our passions and I consider your influence as a huge reason why we feel its ok to go against expected norms in so many ways! Thanks for forging the path and sharing your journey!
Another year, another very fun plan. I'm not seeing the southeast on there, but hoping we'll cross paths!

I've spent a couple months in Crested Butte about a decade ago, running teen programs in the hostel that was once there! And Ouray is gorgeous too.

Thanks Björn! I already chatted with Paul on Pathless Path back in March (to interview him), but I'd love to do it the other way around, too: https://podcast.pathlesspath.com/episodes/dirtbag-rich-blake-boles-i-talk-about-extracting-more-freedom-from-life
If you have any connections to the other podcasts, I'm happy for an introduction :)
