Holy guacamole! This was excellent. As someone who has cleared many a room by bringing up the topic of mortality, I loved this post. And I now have yet another person to hold in my heart as an example of living and dying well, Lalavette. Living outside the box of what we in this country might consider "normal" opens up a world of possibilities. Thanks for this profound piece of writing, and for your willingness to go deep.

"God goes before us to make the crooked places straight, and that same Presence goes behind us to let that benediction flow." That's the Light that has come through you, Blake, as you are a testament to living life fully. I'm so grateful our paths have intersected during this lifetime as you have been the most inspirational non-parent on my parenting journey! May peace be within you always.
